smoke bush & cock

lincoln park

honeysuckle at mom's house

back porch and coffee, sunshine nap dogpile in the baywindow, happy birthday momma, edie pie and cupcakes and tea, all wrapped up in the milkman's spiderweb.

44. Contentment
Health or reputation: which is held dearer?
Health or possessions: which has more worth?
Profit or loss: which is more troublesome?

Great love incurs great expense,
And great wealth incurs great fear,
But contentment comes at no cost.
For who knows when to stop
Does not continue into danger,
And so may long endure.

where there's smoke there's fire....
is that a jellyfish?...
i see a magical deer eating a leaf in that gnarly stump...
...the honeysuckles are from Penny's driveway...
...i miss her....
...thank you for a golden fifty-sixth birthday....
you are my treasure, my daughter, beloved darling beautiful soul....
i do think that great effort is the cost of contentment, that contentment is the reward of great effort, it cannot happen in a vacuum, really...there is sacrifice.....and inconvenience...we are made to move and stretch and give a little....then contentment settles upon us....there is no greater wealth than glowing health...i am drowning in my possessions but i am sentimentally floating too, sweetly adrift in the beauty of your art, my deftly painted crockery from the Lulubelle, i am blessed, content in my sea of riches...my family and friends,,,,
thank you for the uncannily colored, splendidly healthy smoke bush! i love you......Momma
